A beautiful piece that combines traditional Mexican textile art, its techniques and roots with natural fibers and a very contemporary design. The handmade embroidery motifs are known as "cadenas y escobitas". Their shapes and colors are a reference to the joy of life in Mexico. The blouse was hand sewn and embroidered by women artisans from villages in and around the municipality of Chamula in Chiapas, Mexico. This form of blouse is known as a "huipil". It is a blouse with a traditional straight cut, sewn on the side. This blouse can be wonderfully combined with a denim jacket or a more formal garment. This blouse was handmade by women artisans from communities in Chiapas, Mexico, whose work is part of a comprehensive program that promotes economic growth, community participation, human training and improved health. The women artisans receive fair and adequate compensation for their work.
